We are so lucky in Charleston as we are blessed with a myriad of unique stores chock full of pretty and fun gifts. A personal favorite of mine is Open Door Shop. An airy space based in downtown Charleston, Open Door Shop is one of those home stores that literally feels like home when you walk in! Owners Leslie and Marion have scoured the globe to curate a collection of unique and elegant trinkets. And luckily for brides and grooms to be the ladies recently launched an online registry! Psst… sign up for their mailing list and get 10% off your first online order!
Building a registry is one of the funniest parts of wedding planning, I mean you get to pick out gifts! Almost every store offers an online registry these days even Home Depot! And sites like My Registry collect all these stores offerings onto one site, making it super easy to share with your guests! The trickiest part of picking items for your registry is trying to figure out things you will actually use.
The number one thing you should register for is a set of fine china. You will never buy yourself a set so now is the perfect time to ask for it. Make sure to register for a set of 12, for future guests and pick an elegant and simple design that will last. It’s also a good idea to register for a casual set of dish ware as well.A wedding is the perfect time to ask for an upgrade in kitchen gadgets like a food processor or blender. These are items you use constantly in the kitchen and now is the time to buy one that will last. Towels are also great to include on your registry. It’s not the most exciting gift but you can never have too many and it’ll be nice to have a set that is all one color.
And lastly don’t forget to add lots of picture frames to your registry. You’ll need something to put all your gorgeous wedding photos in!
