A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend The Southern C Summit with my blogging pals from The Charleston Blog Society. (You can read more on the summit here) We spent two days enjoying inspiring speakers (Like Waiting on Martha and Alexandra Macon of Vogue and Over the Moon). Interspersed between the speakers were cocktail hours under the oaks at the William Aiken House where we enjoyed drinks and bites from Southern companies. The week culminated with a brunch at Le Creuset where we (The Charleston Blog Society) hosted a DIY table where attendees could created origami business card holders. Minted provided gorgeous paper for our DIY project while The Town Serif created our calligraphy sign. Click Here to get the DIY instructions for yourself – I promise it’s really easy!
Happy Monday morning lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed our surprise Valentine’s Day post yesterday! Today I am excited to introduce you to a Spring event taking place in Charleston that I am very excited about. This April, I along with some of my Charleston Blog Society pals, will be attending The Southern C Summit. If you’ve ever had an interest in blogging, starting your own business or even just finding a creative outlet then this conference is for you! This three day conference brings some of the biggest names in publishing and blogging to our little city. After hearing that two of my all time favorite bloggers, Grace Atwood of The Stripe and Liz Adams of Sequins & Stripes, were speaking I just knew I had to attend! Both of these bloggers have been a huge inspiration to me over the past few years and I cannot wait to learn from them. The intimate format of The Southern C provides opportunities for attendees to really get to know the different speakers on a personal level. All presenters attend the conference which is way different from any blogging conference I have ever attended. It is so much nicer to have speakers stick around rather than buzz in just to give their presentations. Another exciting element about The Southern C Summit is that they offer breakout sessions to really hone in on specific topics. Everything is offered from video production, to PR, branding, and my personal favorite, a one hour styling workshop. Since The Southern C takes place in Charleston you are guaranteed that the daily classroom discussions will be carried on into the warm night over cocktails at a charming bar. I for one am thoroughly looking forward to learning new tips and tricks for my blog and meeting other creatives. Let me know if you plan on attending and you can join our blogging group for a coffee!
