Who watched the Oscars last night? Watching the Oscars red carpet is always one of my favorite highlights of the awards ceremony. And after last nights fashion it only seemed fitting to feature this stylish engagement. Victoria Fulmer Photography captured Sarah and Justin’s styled engagement during the Julie Paisley Workshop in Nashville, Tennessee.
We here at Coastal Bride love anything water related so when vendor guide member Sara Logan Photography sent over this engagement we had to share it right away! This mist filled Atlantic beach engagement is dripping with romance. Bride Jess is a wedding photographer herself at Common Dove Photography and chose the most stylish embellished skirt for this shoot. These two lovebirds met at a wedding and have the sweetest love story which unfolds below! From the groom… I’m sure when others tell our love story they will say that it began when we were paired together at a wedding as a bridesmaid and a groomsman. They will talk about how I smashed a cupcake in her face at the reception and how we started dating after the wedding. But I like to think our love story began the day before the wedding when we met. We were two people that realized we had a connection from the beginning but both tried desperately to ignore it.
From Jessica trying not to look at me and avoiding me at the reception and the realization we were 15 hours apart; was this feasible to see each other again? It’s been a constant war between what we felt from the second we saw each other to the rationalization that the distance separating us was huge.
We decided to follow our hearts, and to see what happens and kept talking after the wedding. Within a few days we had made plans for me to visit her. Now, almost two years later, we’re engaged, planning our own wedding and about to start a life together. If you were to skip the details of our relationship and how we met, our love story could be summarized in a sentence: I never believed in a soul mate until I met Jessica.

As we all know an engagement is a time of celebration, preparation and a little bit of stress. Showers, luncheons and bachelor(ette) parties are thrown, leaving you in need of chic and appropriate outfits for many events. Amidst the hubbub of choosing china patterns and decoding table arrangements it can be hard to find enough time to go shopping. Luckily, the adorable Taylor Brobisky from Holy City in Heels is here to share some of her fashion wisdom! Taylor has styled two looks from local Charleston, SC boutiques that are perfect for pre-wedding day festivities. See what Taylor has to say about these outfits below and don’t forget to also visit her blog for more style inspiration!
Holy City in Heels: Today I am bringing you two completely different looks to inspire your engagement party attire. This first look was inspired by the classic, iconic Tiffany’s box. I chose this outfit for a chic, dressy event where the future Mrs. needs to look elegant and sophisticated. The dress I am wearing is from Refind Boutique and the accessories are from StyleDwell.
The second look is more casual for a laid back brunch or morning get together with family and friends. This dress is the perfect choice as it is both comfortable and cute. The dress I am wearing is from StyeDwell and the shoes are from Refind Boutique.
Hope you enjoyed these looks!
