It’s not often that you hear the words bohemian and Charleston in the same sentence. Living in a city full of plantations most weddings veer on the traditional side. But today’s styled bridals at Boone Hall Plantation prove that bohemian can fit within the lowcountry just as well. Judy Nunez Photography styled these laid back bridals which feature a flowing blue gown and a flower crown.
For the next few weeks every Thursday I will be highlighting a different Charleston style blogger. I have asked all of the featured bloggers to create a post related to wedding style. These bloggers are going to be bringing you their insider tips on wedding makeup, hair and what to wear for your engagement.
We are starting off the Blogger Style features today with the fabulous Andrea Serrano from Charleston Shop Curator. A freelance stylist, Andrea worked as the costume shopper for Army Wives and as a stylist in New York City for ad campaigns, magazine editorials and celebrity styling. The Charleston Shop Curator is her outlet to showcase the diversity of style in Charleston, SC and expose local design talents. Read on below to see how Andrea would style a Bohemian Bridal!
A Bohemian look is perfect for that bride who is a free spirit and favors a vintage vibe. To achieve this look it’s important to find those heirloom pieces that are one of a kind or something that’s custom made.
A dress like this is perfect for a ceremony on the beach, in a forest, at a plantation or any other outdoor wedding venue. Also the beauty of a dress this style is that it can be worn for any occasion after your wedding.
A floral crown like the one I used for this shoot is made of artificial flowers, which is great as a keepsake item. You can always opt for a floral crown made of real flowers at numerous local florists such as Anna Bella Florals or Out of the Garden. Having a healthy glow with rosy cheeks and adding waves or curls in your hair completes this Bohemian look.
