I don’t know about you but the winter blues have sure set in for me. With all of these chilly, grey days my home needed a spot of color to pick me up. Today’s winter flower recipe is the perfect bit of sunshine to brighten up your winter home and with Valentine’s Day right around the corner this simple DIY is the perfect centerpiece for all of your parties and themed wedding showers. Step One: When designing your centerpiece pick vases in different sizes and colors to add character. These light pink mercury vessels and lavender themed nightfall votives from BHLDN are a perfect choice as their different shades add dimension. By using vessels of different colors you can use less florals, keeping your centerpiece budget-friendly. You can even leave some of them empty like I did, letting the beauty of the votives stand-alone. Step Two: Fill the vases with greenery. I used flat fern, seeded eucalyptus and Italian ruscus. To create this textured look use a minimum of 3 types of greenery. Step Three: Add in your main flowers keeping the boldest color in the center. Arrange the flowers low and close together to allow the greenery to fan out, creating a looser look. I used peonies, lisianthus and spray roses for my main flowers. Step Four: Fill in any gaps with another, smaller bud. I added in a bit of waxflower at this stage. And there you have it! As you can see the BHLDN vessels look just as nice with flowers in them or empty supporting the main floral piece.
The talents of Landon Jacob Photography and Parkside Wedding Studio combined to create this beautiful photo shoot in the peach orchards of Gilbert, South Carolina. Using an array of romantic BHLDN gowns, veils from Veiled Beauty on Etsy and simple white blooms from Fern Studio. With the delicate peach blooms as a backdrop the BHLDN gowns take center stage in these elegant images and I for one cannot take my eyes off them.
I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th! I will be back with more wedding loveliness for you on Friday!
