With the softest pastel florals, lavender linens, and sweet bicycle motifs, this Boca Grande, FL wedding is just the inspiration you need for Spring. NK Productions Wedding Planning designed an open and airy reception filled with potted trees and candlelight at the Gasparilla Inn. While a backdrop of Banyan Trees and lush greenery provided the perfect scene for gorgeous bridal party portraits from Luminaire. How Did You Two Meet? We met while working at the local courthouse as young attorneys. We were both fresh out of law school and had gotten positions as law clerks for judges in the family court. Our secretaries happened to be sisters, and they helped to set us up. We each knew within weeks of meeting one another that we would be married one day… and here we are. What Is Your Proposal Story? Michael proposed to me in one of my most favorite places in the world: on the Barnegat Bay in our home state of New Jersey. He took me completely by surprise, and had both our families waiting to celebrate with dinner and champagne. It was more than I could have ever asked for.
Tell Us About Your Wedding Design? I was inspired by Boca Grande itself. I wanted to have a wedding that was understated, but elegant, and so I tried to work with the natural beauty of the Florida summer as much as possible. We chose soft lighting and colors that complemented the surroundings, such as grays, greens and corals. With the tent, we were able to really enjoy the warmth and the breeze. I knew if we kept our design elements simple, and our guests comfortable, we couldn’t go wrong. What Were Your Favorite Parts Of The Day? Where do I start? Everything was a dream. However, the best moment of the night was when Michael and I were able to take a step away from the reception for a few minutes. We sat there watching everything happening from afar, taking it all in. I would recommend every couple do this on their wedding day. It is so easy to get caught up in the moment, and it all goes by so quickly. Take a few minutes to let the night sink in before it’s over.
