Let your bridesmaids know they’re your main squeeze with these DIY citrus themed will you be my bridesmaid proposal boxes! Inspired by Kate Aspen’s new Cheery and Chic gift line I created these lemon shaped boxes and I think we can all agree they are the CUTEST gift you could give your girls! I am sharing all of the details to create these boxes below as well as all of the gift items you need from Kate Aspen to finish the look!
Things You Will Need: All Coastal Bride readers receive 20% off at Kate Aspen for the next two weeks using the code CBB20 Lemon Soap | Personalized Wine Bottle Labels | Citrus Cheeseboard and Spreader | Cheery and Chic Citrus Plates | Citrus Cheese Spreaders | Round Paper Mache Boxes | Yellow Acrylic Paint | Paper Cutter | Pink, Yellow, Green Cardstock | Glue Stick | Scissors | Sponge Brush Using a sponge brush paint the sides and bottom of your paper mache boxes yellow. Paper mache can be tricky to paint as the material soaks up paint and regular paint brushes can leave streaks. Avoid this by using a sponge brush and painting in long, even strokes. While your box is drying it’s time to create the lid of your gift. Lay the lid of your paper mache box down on pink cardstock and trace out a circle. Repeat this step with a paper dessert plate to create a smaller circle on yellow cardstock.Place your pink circles to the side while you do this next step. Using a paper cutter, cut the yellow circles into slices.Glue the yellow slices on to your pink circles using a glue stick. Spread the slices around to create a more organic look. Don’t get stressed if the slices don’t look perfect – lemons aren’t perfect either!Take your cardstock lemon slice and glue to the top of your box.Finish off your box by adding a cute leaf shaped tag letting your bridesmaid know she’s your main squeeze! I made this tag using my Cricut but you can easily cut this shape out using scissors.
This bridesmaid proposal box wouldn’t be complete without lemon themed gifts inside! Luckily, Kate Aspen has the perfect items you need to create a citrus themed gift basket. This proposal box includes the cutest lemon soap, personalized wine bottle labels in a cheery citrus print, citrus cheese spreaders, and a mini citrus cheeseboard. If you are going with a themed gift, it is always nice to go the extra mile and make sure all of the elements go with that theme. I chose to use the Kate Aspen personalized wine bottle labels on mini bottles of lemonade and they fit just perfectly!Kate Aspen is one of my favorite places to find sweet bridesmaids gifts. While everything in this post is from their Cheery and Chic line they also offer unicorn, nautical, and coastal trinkets. You can see even more of their bridesmaids gifts by clicking here!
