Located in quiet St. Simons Island, Georgia, the historic grounds of Musgrove Retreat provided the perfect backdrop for Hannah and Jack’s Southern black tie affair captured by Allison Pedigo. From the bride’s old world ball gown, to the ceremony set in a historic church that dates back to 1820, every detail crafted by Cocktails & Details is polished and classic.
What is your proposal story? While visiting my (Hannah’s) parents in St. Simons, Jack suggested we take our two dogs to their dock to take some photos. Once there, I was able to snap a few photos of the dogs before Jack walked into the frame and got down on one knee.Tell us a little a bit about your wedding: Hannah and her family had been vacationing in St. Simons for many years. Since meeting in college, SSI had become a special place for Jack as well as he began joining Hannah’s family on vacations. We immediately knew we wanted to be married at Christ Church Frederica. Hannah’s mother had toured Musgrove Plantation on the Christ Church Tour of Homes and suggested they consider it for the reception. After touring the property, both knew it was the perfect location. Both venues embodied so much of what the couples loves about St. Simons. From the history to the oaks covered in Spanish moss, both locations are classically coastal southern. What were your favorite parts of the day? It’s so hard to pick just a few. The whole day was so amazing, from getting ready at Musgrove with our closest friends and family to the beautiful ceremony at Christ Church. Dancing the night away under the stars with our favorite people at the reception is something we will never forget.
